Designer Adam Keprta brings a fusion of Italian aesthetics and Czech craftsmanship to this year's Czech Design Week. In collaboration with the renowned Italian brand STOSA, he presents a new series of hand-blown and cut glass that explores the dialogue between architecture and light. The collection is built upon the dynamic rhythm of diagonal lines and a delicate, matte cut that evokes the texture and grandeur of famous Tuscan marble.
The inspiration stems from the foothills of Tuscany's Monte Amiata as well as ancient legends of the Libeccio wind, which sweeps in from the sea to carve characteristic spiral patterns into the local rock massifs. Furthermore, the collection draws on a Renaissance legend of petrified light—according to which master builders designed twisted columns as suncatchers to capture the warm glow of the Tuscan dusk within a space forever.
